Michael Plaut (Surf City, N.C.) has retired from his faculty position at the University of Maryland, after 35 years, and moved to coastal North Carolina, where he plans to open a parttime practice. Plaut is also continuing his research, writing, speaking and consulting on professional-client boundary issues. In August, Richard Sprott (Berkeley, Calif.) gave a presentation with several colleagues at the American Psychological Association's annual conference in Boston, Mass., about the need for more research on polyamory, swinging, BDSM and other forms of alternative sexualities not usually addressed. The AASECT board of directors approved Dennis Detweiler (Lawrence, Kan.) as the new Chair of the Sex Therapist Certification Committee. His committee members are: Sally Kope (Ypsilanti, Mich.) the outgoing chair, Christine Bertrand-Hyde (Chester Township, N.J.), and Sandra Jordan (Okemos, Mich.). The chair of the Sexuality Counseling Certification Committee continues to be Talli Rosenbaum (Bet Shemesh, Israel).
