Norman Fertel (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Esther Feuer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) were featured speakers at the Labor Day “Parenting Weekend” of the West Coast National Conference of Synagogue Youth in Los Angeles. They are long-time AASECT members and diplomates. The Center for Family Life Education (CFLE) will honor Robert T. Francoeur (Rockaway, N.J.) with the Golden Brick Award at its 2008 Sex Ed Conference this month in Somerset, N.J. The Golden Brick Award is named in honor of Peggy Brick (Kennett Squares, Pa.), former director of the CFLE. The award honors individuals who have made long-term contributions to the field of sexuality education, particularly in Northern New Jersey. Past recipients include Carole Adamsbaum (Lincoln Park, N.J.), and, of course, Peggy Brick. Francoeur is the editor of the award winning International Encyclopedia of Sexuality, which he and co-editor Ray Noonan made available free-of-charge in cooperation with the Kinsey Institute (see http://www.kinsey institute.org/ccies). Francoeur is also the author or editor of numerous influential sexuality texts, including Becoming a Sexual Person, The Complete Dictionary of Sexology, Eve’s New Rib, Hot and Cool Sex, The Scent of Eros, and many editions of Taking Sides: Clashing Views in Human Sexuality. The AASECT board of directors approved the following individuals as members of the AASECT Finance Committee for the 2008-2010 term of office: Dennis Sugrue (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.), Konnie McCaffree (Doylestown, Pa.), Frank Goldstein (Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.), Triste Brooks (West Plam Beach, Fla.), and Robert Berend (Kensington, Calif.). The committee is chaired by Russell Stambaugh (Ann Arbor, Mich.), AASECT’s treasurer and board member.
