Arkansas Business Book of Lists 2009 - (Page 1) From the Editor Throughout the course of the year, the staff of Arkansas Business labors mightily to produce lists — lists of banks, accounting firms, insurance agencies, hospitals, highly paid state employees and dozens of others. They are wildly popular with readers, who then, unfortunately, tend to misplace them. That’s where the Book of Lists comes in. Most of the lists that we produced throughout the course of 2008 are compiled in this, the 16th edition of the Book of Lists. If you are looking for a small business loan, we can tell you who made the most. You like dollar signs? Most of the revenue figures for the list of the state’s largest private companies came directly from the companies. The state Freedom of Information Act allows us to rank restaurants and hotels by actual revenue. These lists paint a fascinating picture of Arkansas and its business community, but we know you aren’t in the business of being fascinated. The real value in the Book of Lists is the nuts-and-bolts information it contains — mailing addresses, phone and fax numbers, Web sites, those elusive e-mail addresses and the names of decision-making executives.
