The annual district conferences offer an opportunity to define and refine your best leadership skills. District Level if you are a current leader, former leader, committee member or a member who is dedicated to AbwA, this conference is perfect for you. This year, we have two FuLL days of programming—registration begins at 7 a.m. on Friday. Group Growth and Management An important component of any district conference is the comprehensive District snapshot. Last year, we set some markers for how each district was performing. This year, you can review how much improvement you’ve made, and how much more you want. we’ll focus on ways to help your groups grow and maintain their strength and vitality. online and in charge when it comes to technology, 2008 was a watershed year for the Association. At the district conferences, you have the opportunity to tap into all the features designed for you and try your hand at the AbwA online experience. From logging in to printing off a roster, this step-by-step tutorial is perfect. Also, conference attendees have the opportunity to try a pilot payment program for the 2009 national women’s Leadership Conference. The event will be sold out, so register early. The new management system allows you to sign up and make payments toward your registration costs. This year, working with the stephen bufton memorial educational Fund (sbmeF) is as simple as point and click. Take a tour of the site and learn how it works. if your group participates in the sbmeF program, this is a must-see session. Get with the Program one of the key differences in a best Practice group can be summed up in one word: Programming. They have it. And it’s programming with intention—the intention to give members that critical edge that takes them from an employee to a star performer. if your group has been struggling with programming, we have some answers. it’s a new take on the courses “Programming on Purpose” and “impact Programming.” we’ll provide you with some new ideas on how to deliver compelling programs. What’s the Plan? Last year, members went home with a new programming tool in their pocket— Plan B: Programming in a Pinch. This allinclusive alternative included three complete programs any group could use if a speaker cancels or a program was not scheduled. This year, attendees will receive Plan B: Reloaded! Packed with new programs and new ideas. This tool is onLY available for members who attend the entire two-day AbwA track.
