WOMEN in BUSINESS - February/March 2009 - (Page 9) ABWA National Board members participated in team building exercises at their annual board meeting in early January. 2008-2009 National Board of Directors Vicki Marlett National President Irving, Texas casey coVen National Vice President Annapolis, Maryland The board meeting minutes are as follows: The second regular meeting of the ABWA’s 2008-2009 National Board of Directors was held Saturday, January 10, 2009 in Kansas City, MO. The national officers voted on the following: · Jeanne Banks, 2004-2005 National President, was appointed rules advisor for the 2009 Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO. Robin Necci, 2006-2007 National President, was appointed alternate rules advisor. · Amy Dawson, 2007-2008 National Secretary-Treasurer, was appointed sergeant at arms for the 2009 Annual Meeting in Kansas City, MO. · The following members were appointed to the 2008 Publishing Committee: District I—Christine Boring, Chair, Lakeland Downtown Chapter, District I—Lakeland, Fl District II—Peggy Griffin, Acropolis Chapter, Sherwood, AR District III—Virginia Johnson, Jazz City Chapter, Grandview, MO · The board approved amendment to Article X, National Officers, Section 2E of the National Bylaws to read as follows: have completed all current ABWA designated leadership workshops sponsored by ABWA National as of the date of the Annual Meeting. · Chattanooga, TN was selected as the site for the 2010 National Women’s Leadership Conference. · The board also empowered the General Chair of the 2009 Kansas City, MO National Women’s Leadership Conference to select the Credentials chair. In its role as trustee of the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund, the board reviewed the Statement of Condition and the Loan Status reports. The national officers made the following decisions: · Approved the selection of schools for the National Scholarships as submitted by each District Vice President by February 1, 2009. · The board approved the conversion of a loan to a grant.
