This still was taken by unit photographer Michael Tackett and graded by Beato in Photoshop to reflect the intended look. When I told Technicolor about my previous experience getting dailies over the Internet, the lab promptly agreed to adapt its software to transmit the files that way. (Tamara Gagarin of Technicolor was our liaison.) The original HD dailies were taken from an HDCam SR master and encoded into MPEG-2 HD video. They used a 3-to-1 at 25mb/s compression using the Tandberg HD encoder. The studio, Warner Bros., demanded that some sort of security be built into the procedure, so Technicolor used Aspera software to encrypt the files; only one computer with a fixed IP could access their server in Los Angeles.
