and precision, and compatibility with the
latest OSX Maverick 10.9 operating system.
3cP Set + Post also offers native integration with HDLink Pro LUT box, support
for an array of MXF footage files, secure
data offload and checksum verification,
support for a number of color control
surfaces, export of nearly 20 different
formats of 3-D LUTs and CDLs, and the ability to generate color-corrected dailies to
Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD (MXF or QuickTime), DPX, iPad, iPhone and more, in resolutions ranging from SD to 4K and Ultra HD.
Gamma & Density has also introduced the Gamma & Density Log Chart, an
innovative color-control chart for use with
modern digital cinema cameras. The Log
Chart simplifies the creation of LUTs or CDLs
by providing Rec 709 target grayscale
percentage numbers and saturation values,
which coincide with a standard waveform
and vectorscope monitor.
The Log Chart features two
magnetic strips for attaching data strips,
including Rec 709-calibrated color bars, a
standard linear black/white gradient ramp,
and percentage and saturation values that
correspond to common gamma curves;
individual strips are available for
Arri Log-C, Canon Log,
RedGamma3, RedLogFilm and Sony
SLog2. Strips for Sony SLog 3, Blackmagic
Film Gamma and RedGamma4 are coming
soon, and Gamma & Density plans to
announce additional strips as camera technology continues to develop.
Additional features of the Log Chart
include Gamma & Density's Easily Recognizable Colors, gray steps labeled in spot meter
f-stop values for quick exposure reference,
an 11-step grayscale that utilizes black
velvet for a true black reference, and
common 1.78:1 and 2.40:1 frame lines for
use in post and dailies creation.
3cP Set + Post Version 7 and the Log
Chart are available for purchase directly
through the Gamma & Density website,
www.gammadensity.com.

the small form factor, the StarliteHD is a
professional 3G-SDI field monitor with builtin tools such as a high-resolution waveform
and a precision vectorscope. Additionally,
an embedded recorder delivers dailies in
H.264 to SD cards.
The StarliteHD incorporates a touchscreen panel and eschews endlessly tiered
menus. The monitor's housing is extremely
rugged, machined in avionics-grade
aluminum. Additionally, Transvideo plans a
wide range of accessories, including a
battery support and detachable sun hood.
Transvideo has also introduced the
6" CinemonitorHD Evolution X-SBL
Enhanced. This extremely bright monitor
with a 2000-nits backlight system draws
only 19 watts of power and boasts antiglare technology to reduce reflections and

enhance contrast. The monitor can be set in
two operating modes for outdoor or indoor
viewing; in Xtreme Bright mode, details in
both dark areas and highlights are maintained even without a hood in full sun.
The 6" monitor comes with the
Virtual Horizon2, an electronic horizon that
features inertia/acceleration compensation
and a shock analyzer. The sensitivity and
direction are adjustable with six available
renditions, and the display can be moved
anywhere on the screen. (Inertia/shock
compensation can also be turned off.)

Pictorvision Flies Mini-Eclipse
Pictorvision, a provider of gyro-stabilized camera systems, has introduced the MiniEclipse, a compact head designed for operation in the air and on the ground. The head's
versatility is made possible by Pictorvision's
Gen-V next-generation stabilization technology.
"Ever since we launched our full-sized
Eclipse system, the market has been asking us
to release a smaller version dedicated to the
new digital cinema cameras," says Tom Hallman, president of Pictorvision. "They also
repeatedly asked us to make a version to
support the needs of the ground market with
the same level of performance as our Academy
and SOC Award-winning Eclipse. We listened,
and the result is the Mini-Eclipse."
With the Mini-Eclipse, Hallman adds,
"productions will be able to use the same
stabilized head on cranes and camera cars, and
then move over to the helicopter for absolutely
stable aerial shots. Not having to bring in a
separate head and crew for simple aerial shots
has long been at the top of producers' wish
lists, and with the Gen-V breakthrough, we're
excited to finally be able to satisfy that need.
"The Mini-Eclipse is just one product in
a family of new systems that will be available
from Pictorvision and parent company PV Labs,
all utilizing the same core Gen-V technology,"
Hallman continues. "Additional models will be
specifically designed for electronic news gathering, LiDAR, corridor mapping, wide area
mapping, wide area motion imagery, and
public safety and security."
The Mini-Eclipse comes with no ITAR
restrictions, which means customers will be
able to use the system anywhere in the world
without having to worry about U.S. export
restrictions. The first units are scheduled to fly
this month, with production units ready within
a year.
