panels, both of these
new lighting series feature
high CRI and TLCI. The bi-color
models allow for transitional
color tuning from daylight to
tungsten, accommodating any lighting situation. Also, with smooth dimming from
100 to 0 percent and no color shift
throughout the entire range, color and
intensity can be quickly adjusted either
manually or remotely via the optional Bluetooth and DMX communications modules.
Compared with their predecessors,
the daylight-balanced Sola 4+ LED Fresnel
offers a greater-than-120-percent increase
in output while the new Sola 6+ has a 50percent increase. Producing full-spectrum,
directional illumination, the Sola 4+ and 6+
offer the controllability and light-shaping
properties inherent in Fresnel lights, but at a
small fraction of the power draw of conventional Fresnel units. The custom Fresnel
lenses emit an even, collimated light source
that can be focused and controlled for
maximum flexibility. The Sola range of LEDs
provides cool daylight illumination with the
unique ability to control both focus and
intensity via standard DMX 512 protocol
and without the heat generation of a traditional Fresnel.

AJA Unveils Ki Pro Ultra Plus
AJA Video Systems has announced
Ki Pro Ultra Plus, which introduces 1-, 2-, 3or 4-channel simultaneous HD recording up
to 1080 50/60p, and full HDMI 2.0 (up to
12-bit capture and output) for 4K/UltraHD
workflows.
The Ki Pro Ultra Plus is ideal for
recording multi-camera shoots in HD multichannel mode, and 4K/UltraHD recording
and playback in single-channel mode. The
unit is housed in a compact, easy-to-operate, standalone 2RU half rack and has
broad I/O flexibility and connectivity
options, including 3G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 and
optional fiber connections. The Ki Pro Ultra

Plus captures 4K/UltraHD and HD video to
widely accepted production codecs, including Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD MXF.
Four channels of HD can be
recorded simultaneously as Apple ProRes
files, each with different compression
profiles as desired, to robust AJA Pak 1000
SSD media. The Ki Pro Ultra Plus includes Ki
Protect technology, ensuring that in the
event of power failure or inadvertent withdrawal of a Pak drive, recently recorded

footage is always secure. All four channels
can be displayed on the Ki Pro Plus' LCD
screen as a quad-split during capture for
confidence monitoring; the quad-split can
also be output over HDMI, SDI, and even on
the integrated browser-based Web UI
during capture.

Rotolight Illuminates Aeos
Rotolight has introduced the Aeos
bi-color location LED fixture, which boasts
an ultra-thin design and weighs less than
1.5kg (3.3 pounds).
The Aeos delivers a powerful output
of 5,750 lux at 3', and is able to run for
three hours at 100-percent power on a
single 95-watt battery. The fixture includes
integrated aluminum handles and, in lieu of
a traditional yoke, features a professional
ball head for complete 360-degree rotation
and 200 degrees of tilt when mounted to a
light stand. The ball head is made from solid
high-quality aluminum and can support the
full weight of the Aeos, with battery and
barn doors mounted, at
any angle.
