A healing environment-creating a setting in which caring takes place that is consistent with the view of humans as holistic individuals and complex beings in relationships. it includes maintaining an expected level of privacy, safety, and control. in addition, a healing environment provides access to spiritual resources and to the outside world, for example, by offering guests internet access. enhancing the patient care setting to create a healing environment is empirically tied to improved outcomes (ioM 2001). Fulfillment of basic human needs- attending to the fundamental requirements of all patients as humans. they include physical, safety, security, social and relational, self-esteem, and self-actualization needs. Fulfillment of affiliation needs-being responsive to families and encouraging their participation and engagement in the healthcare situation, including decision making, to fulfill their need for belonging and membership in a family or the community.
