Revisiting Resident Assistant Burnout
The ANOVA results indicated no significant differences in emotional exhaustion
between RA community composition groups,
F(2,148) = .084, p = .920. Also, no significant differences in depersonalization scores
between RA community composition groups
emerged, F(2,150) = .234, p = .791. However,
according to the ANOVA results, at least one
RA community composition group had a significantly different personal accomplishment
mean, F(2,148) = 3.822, p < .05. Tukey post
dard deviations for each community composition group by burnout dimension. The analysis
identified one outlier in the mostly first-year
personal accomplishment group by having a
z-score less than -3.29; thus, the value 0 was adjusted up to the next closest, non-outlier value
of 14 (Tabachnick & Fidell, 2007). Levene's test
assumed homogeneity of variances for each dimension of burnout: emotional exhaustion (p =
.932), depersonalization (p = .215), and personal
accomplishment (p = .116).
