issues fall under the umbrella of the FHA?
2. Why might it be "inherently discriminatory" for colleges and universities to conduct
criminal background checks on students applying for student housing?
3. Create a list of "pros" and "cons" for utilizing background checks. Which rationale do you
find to be most persuasive, and why?
4. What suggestions does the author offer for housing professionals to support justiceinvolved students? What role do you think housing professionals should take in supporting
justice-involved students?
5. If background checks are eliminated, what other policies could colleges and universities
implement to help ensure the safety of students living in campus housing?
