The site presents a variety of topics including stress management, alcohol and drug addiction, dating violence, and health insurance. It also provides information for those looking to begin a career in a health-related field. The Web site was founded by Dr. Susan J. Blumenthal, former assistant surgeon general and women’s health expert, during her time as distinguished visiting professor of Women’s Studies at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Dr. Blumenthal feels that it is crucial to address the unique health issues pertinent to college women: “During this dynamic transitional period into adulthood, college women are faced with choices about behaviors that will influence their health today and for the rest of their lives. That’s why targeting health education to women at this period of their lives is so important.” The Web site also includes a section called “Let’s Talk!” which assists students in finding Internet chat forums CONTINUES 10 University of Saint Francis Fort Wayne, Indiana Projected Opening: August 2009 • Cost: $7 million The 42,000-square-foot residence hall will be built with a direct view of the football field and the campus lake. It will house 148 upperclass students in three stories of suite-style rooms. Each suite will include two bedrooms connected by a bathroom and will house one to three residents. The building will also include a computer lab and electronic key card access security. Holy Family University Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Projected Opening: August 2009 • Cost: $20 million The 67,430-square-foot Stevenson Residence Hall will house 148 students in suite-style living. Each unit will consist of two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room. Each floor will include a kitchenette and laundry rooms, and the building will also feature a fitness room, game room, vending room, multipurpose room, and health suite. There will be 24-hour security attendants, security cameras, and swipe card access to the building and individual living units. Rice University Houston, Texas Projected Opening: February 2009 • Cost: $12 million The four-story, 118,900-square-foot Rice Village Apartments will house 137 of Rice University’s graduate students. Its green features include Energy Star appliances, energy efficient lighting systems, and a foundation made with 20 percent fly ash in place of Portland cement. The building will offer a lobby, offices, TV room, laundry room, and interior storage for up to 100 bicycles. Moravian College Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Projected Opening: August 2009 • Cost: $25 million Moravian College has partnered with Bethlehem Area Moravians, Inc. to create a 100,000-square-foot learning community that will house approximately 230 students. The building will contain a variety of living options for students, including seven different suites accommodating from 2 to 16 students each. The six-story structure will also include four 40-seat technology-enhanced classrooms, an Information Technology Resource Center, a wireless computer lounge, and a café.
