The university was established in 1927 (it is
England's 14th oldest) and has proudly inspired
thousands of talented, committed students to
graduation ever since. It has more than 2,500
student rooms in total, 1,160 of which are on or
near campus, with the remainder located in
the leafy village of Cottingham. Conveniently,
this friendly student suburb is only two miles
from the university and has great transport links
to the campus. With a wide variety of student
accommodation which includes traditional catered
halls of residence and self-catered student houses
offering a more independent living experience,
students are able to find the type of accommodation
that's right for them.
The university is always looking for ways to
improve their student facilities, and they have
some really exciting projects taking place at the
moment. Alongside planning additional on-campus
residences, the largest halls of residence, The
Lawns, are currently receiving major investment to
create a new vibrant central hub where students
can study, keep fit, and enjoy time with friends.

The Association of College and University Housing OfficersInternational is a nonprofit organization that provides
professional development experiences for its members by
sponsoring programs, services, publications, and research.
Association members on college and university campuses
worldwide participate in conferences, workshops, committees,
and networks. These activities provide a means of exchanging
and distributing professional information related to the
various aspects of student residence facilities and their related
operations.
