hosted access control system. Avail

Iowa City, Iowa

The West Campus Residence Hall currently being built at the
University of Iowa will be the first residence hall constructed since
1968. Recognizing that students' needs and interests have changed
considerably over those decades, they decided to design the hall as an
environment for a living-learning community. The new facility will house
501 students and will include a student dining sports grill to encourage
social interaction.
university of Florida

Gainesville, Florida
Projected Opening: Summer 2015

Cost: $20.5 million

In order to accommodate the growing need for student housing, the
University of Florida will be adding the first new residence hall in 12
years. The new facility will be well equipped to accommodate students
with disabilities; located near the Disability Resource Center, it is
designed with ADA accommodation in mind, especially for students with
limited mobility. The hall is open to students of any rank and will feature
250 beds in single- and double-occupancy units. Students will share one
to three bathrooms and a common living area.
Black hills State university

Spearfish, South Dakota
Projected Opening: Summer 2015

Cost: $11.3 million

After more than 10 years of planning, Black Hills State University will
be opening a new 50,000-square-foot residence hall that will connect
two existing halls; the new hall features suite-style units to house
approximately 190 additional students. Amenities include a two-story
great room, kitchen, snack area, media room, and a fireplace. Students
housed in two rooms will share a bathroom. The hall features a main
lobby that fully connects residents from the adjoining residence halls.
Coastal Carolina university

Conway, South Carolina
Projected Opening: Autumn 2015

Cost: $85 million

Coastal Carolina University broke ground on a new housing facility that
will help the university reach their goal of 12,500 students. The new
project will include four first-year residence halls that will add 1,270 beds
in a variation of two- and four-person suites and single-occupancy suites.
The new residence halls will combine with the existing residence halls to
form a residential quadrangle. The five-story halls will feature an exercise
facility, oversized lounge and study areas, live-in staff apartments, and a
recycling center.
