University of Massachusetts at Amherst THE STONEWALL CENTER IS ALSO PROACTIVE IN BEING AS INCLUSIVE AS POSSIBLE IN THEIR FORMS AND LANGUAGE, ESPECIALLY AS THESE EVOLVE. especially as these evolve. This is apparent across the institution, as the admissions materials offer nine options for sexual orientation and nine options for gender identity, and students can pick more than one in each category. Beemyn suggests that this is simply keeping up with the complex ways that students think about their gender and sexual orientation. "The leadership is very supportive and recognize supporting trans students as a priority," Beemyn says. "I appreciate that so much individual care is provided to trans students. We have one of the largest number of students living on campus in the country, but we take the time to talk to each trans student and talk about the best option for them." 50 TALKING STICK Mary C.
