Annual Session and World Marketplace Exhibition 2008 Preliminary Program

This year’s event takes place in San Antonio, a fascinating, historical destination and one of America’s fastest growing cities. It’s sure to be a highlight of your professional life. Whether you are a member of the American Dental Assistants Association, a clinical assistant, administrative assistant, educator or insurance personnel, or if you fill any role in the world of dental assisting, we urge you to participate. From Wednesday, October 15 (when the ADAA Board of Trustees convenes for its pre-conference meeting) through Sunday, October 19, we offer a full program for you to take part in and enjoy: • A whole suite of education for the dental assistant has been prepared: As a dental assistant registrant with the ADA Annual Session, you are welcome to participate in numerous educational courses geared toward dental assistants and the entire dental team. • Entrance into the ADA World Marketplace Exhibition, one of the world’s largest dental exhibits. • ADAA Governance: Delegates to the ADAA House of Delegates must be registered as dental assistants with the ADA Annual Session in order to be credentialed. ADAA members who are registered with the ADA conference but are not credentialed as Delegates are welcome to attend any ADAA Forums or Council meetings or to be seated in the Guest section of the House of Delegates. All ADAA Governance will be conducted at the ADAA Headquarters hotel, The Westin Riverwalk. All dental assisting education, along with all ADAA special events and governance, will be offered during the October 15 through 19 period. Please see the online registration information at www.ada.org/goto/session beginning April 16, or use the registration form in the Dental Assistant Journal. HOW TO REGISTER • The ADA will handle all registration for ADAA dental assistant members, dental assistant students and other dental assistants through the ADA online registration system, or on paper via the ADA’s general registration form. • The dental assistants’ registration fee of only $35 includes ADA Annual Session registration, ADAA Annual Conference registration (for ADAA members only), ADA’s World Marketplace Exhibition and any education courses not requiring an additional fee. Dental assistant students can register free of charge! • As a dental assistant registrant, you will also be welcome to register for the tours and events offered by ADA for an additional fee. • ADAA registrants are invited to request any hotel listed in the ADA housing information, with the exception of the ADA Headquarters hotel. • ADAA will headquarter at The Westin Riverwalk. • Tickets for the Dental Assistants’ Reception, ADAA Foundation Fundraiser and the ADAA President’s Grand Reception may be ordered on the Special Events form found on the event registration form or as you register online. Our special ADAA event is a rollicking reception and a warm welcome to dental assistants from around the U.S. and around the world. Enjoy snacks and the chance to win door prizes. There will be guest speakers and you will have an opportunity to meet with your peers and many of the leaders in your profession while you have a lot of fun. Ask anyone who joined us last year.
