Here’s a rundown of the novelties: T Goodbye, insects Spectrum Brands has introduced Cutter Advanced Sport insect repellent with an odorless formula. The repellent contains 15% picaridin for protection against mosquitoes and ticks. Spectrum is also rolling out Repel Lemon Eucalyptus and Cutter Lemon Eucalyptus. OFF! FamilyCare Smooth & Dry insect repellant is a new entry from SC Johnson’s Skintastic line. The cornstarch aerosol repellent contains 15% DEET. Dermedics Laboratories is taking the wraps off X-PEL Professional Lice Elimination System, and X-Pel Professional Lice Removal Kit. The active ingredients in the homeopathic treatment are Apis mellifica, carbolicum acidum, and Ledum palustre. Cough and cold Cold-EEZE is introducing Organix Cough and Sore Throat Drops medicated with natural menthol derived from organic peppermint oil with pectin. They come in Orchard Cherry, Golden Honey Lemon, Dark Chocolate Mint, and Purely Peppermint flavors. Cold-EEZE Immune Support complex 10 is the second newbie. It contains 10 botanicals, including panax ginseng, hawthorn leaf, Himalayan goji, and eleuthero root. Procter & Gamble is launching Vicks Early Defense Nasal Decongestant Spray with the active ingredient oxymetazoline hydrochloride. Through heat-activation technology, the formula sprays into the nose and turns into a gel. Boiron is unveiling a 12-dose box for its Oscillococcinum flu medicine. For babies and juniors Novartis Consumer Health has developed Baby Gas-X Infant Drops with no alcohol, no saccharin, and no artificial colors or flavors. Novartis is also rolling out Junior Maalox Plus Antigas in wild berry for acid indigestion, heartburn, sour stomach, upset stomach, and gas. J&J is unveiling Desitin Clear, enriched with vitamins A and D to prevent and treat diaper rash. Oral care Pfizer is premiering Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips, which dissolve on teeth and are intended to whiten teeth in two weeks. The Natural Dentist is launching Healthy Teeth & Gums toothpastes that are sweetened with xylitol. Flavors include Whitening Plus Peppermint Twist, Orange Zest, Sparkle Berry Blast, Peppermint Twist, and Peppermint Sage. All of the formulas contain natural fluoride except Peppermint Sage. P&G is bringing out Glide Shred Guard floss that is guaranteed to be shred-resistant. Chattem is marching out ACT Restoring Mouthwash in spearmint, cinnamon, and icy cool mint. GlaxoSmithKline is debuting Aquafresh Advanced toothpaste for “25% stronger enamel.” Glaxo’s White & Shine toothpaste is now available in berry fresh flavor. For women System JO Products is launching System JO H2O Personal Lubricant, a water-based lubricant for women. Razors and creams BIC is unveiling Soleil Citron Pivot, a women’s razor with a dual strip of shea butter and citrus-scented handles. Gillette is launching Venus Breeze, a women’s razor with built-in shave gel bars. Perio Inc. is unveiling Pure Silk Moisturizing Shave Cream for women with aloe in a raspberry mist fragrance and Barbasol Ultra Premium Shave Cream Extra Moisturizing with aloe and lanolin for men. Church & Dwight is launching Nair For Men Hair Remover Body Cream. New dipilatories for women include Nair Bikini Crème, Vanilla Smoothie; Pretty Hair Remover Spray; and Nair Sensitive Formula Bikini Cream with Green Tea. DT
