Setting a precedent Aggregate figures may help paint an overall picture of travelers’ fiscal health, but upon further examination, there are some notable differences between settings and geographical regions—not to mention some interesting developments in the past 2 years. First, take a look at the distinctions between some of the major settings. It should be noted that some respondents secured opportunities in laboratories, imaging centers, and school systems, but the sampling was quite small. In addition, the percentage of current non-nursing travelers practicing in sub-acute care, ambulatory care, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation facilities decreased notably when compared with responses from former traveling counterparts. Acute care: These facilities still remain the largest employers of nurses, therapists, and technologists, both as core employees and short-term supplemental staff. Up significantly from 2 years ago, when threefifths of current and previous travelers chose this setting, 83% now reported practicing in this arena, among others. In 2006, more than three-fourths of current and previous full-timers in acute care settings had incomes of $45,000 to $84,999, with current providers averaging $65,769 and previous travelers earning $62,419. This year, current full-time travelers took home $70,827, with former mobile clinicians averaging $68,424. Among the Circle Career Card No. 626
