Nicely located in central New Hampshire, it is only about an hour away from everywhere, including Enfield. only a mile down the road from my condo. Seeming to measure about 50 yards wide and 300 yards long, it is quite a hike to the top, but so worth it for the ride down. I went up there New Year’s Eve, and at the stroke of midnight, I sledded down on my inner tube! There was not a soul around, and it felt like I could reach up and grab a star right out of the night sky. It was a heavenly way to kick off the New Year! Cultural pursuits Hanover is an atypical college town—and not a bad place to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. You can stroll through the Hood Museum of Art on Dartmouth University’s campus, browse in the shops on its quirky little Main Street, or enjoy its many cozy restaurants. Don’t miss the wonderful old-time movie theater, just one of the buildings that show off the great architectural influences in the area. Want some city life? Boston, Massachusetts, is a short 2-hour trip to the southeast. Full of history, parks, and, of course, the Red Sox, this city offers things to do for the day or for an entire week. Faneuil Hall, also known as Quincy Market, is a fun marketplace to hang out at downtown. Any kind Winter games Northern New England is a prime spot for all kinds of winter sports, from skiing to snowboarding. Killington, Vermont, just an hour west of Enfield, is filled with a variety of trails—green, blue, black, whatever difficulty level you desire. Mt. Sunapee has a ski area as well, and Dartmouth offers a day of fun activity with two or three runs at its own ski way. Not a big skier or snowboarder? How about sledding?
