To access this site, students require an MU e-mail username and password. Blackboard is the course delivery system, and technical support is offered to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Online programs MU’s Department of Health Sciences offers nursing programs accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC). RN-BSN. The goal of the program—designed to augment critical thinking and therapeutic nursing and communication skills—is to build upon skills already attained through associate and diploma degree programs. Students must meet minimum education and program requirements, having up to 38 nursing transfer credits and 31 nursing major credits. Prospective students must provide the admissions office with all transcripts from previous post-secondary schools. They must also hold a current nursing license, have a 2.7 GPA from an NLNACaccredited school of nursing and a “C” or better in anatomy, physiology, chemistry, microbiology, and all nursing courses. The Nursing Master of Science program was designed for RNs who wish to maintain their current employment while furthering their education to become nurse educators. A 33-credit program, it may be completed in 2 years, based on taking two courses over six semesters. Admission requirements include a valid RN license, Bachelor of Science degree, 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA, transcripts of all undergraduate work and basic nursing program, and a professional letter of recommendation. In addition, students must have completed the following courses at the undergraduate level: research, community health nursing, pathophysiology/pharmacology (minimum three credits) and health (or physical) assessment.
