LCGC The Peak - July 2008 - (Page 7) JULY 2008 THE PEAK 7 FROM the EDITOR PharmSep Comes to Philadelphia I n recent months, many readers have inquired about the status of “PharmSep: LCGC’s Premier Symposium for Separation Scientists in Pharmaceuticals,” and after some initial scheduling issues, there is good news on this front. I am pleased to announce that this event has officially been rescheduled and is ready to kickoff later this year, from September 9–11, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The same group of columnists and industry experts that you have come to know and trust in the pages of LCGC over the years will be in attendance: “GC Connections” author John Hinshaw will be delivering a short course, as will fellow columnist Michael Balogh, author of the “MS—The Practical Art” column. Joining them in delivering another short course will be columnists Michael Swartz and Ira Krull, who combine to write the “Validation Viewpoint” column, and many well known members of the LCGC EAB are either acting as advisers for the event, attending the event, or both. PharmSep promises to be one of the highlights of the summer, as LCGC takes its unparalleled reputation for practical, nuts and bolts information on separation science and channels it into three days of intensive presentations, short courses, and tutorials. In this age of vendor-driven conferences and symposia (all of which certainly have their place in the market), this event will definitely fall into the category of “hard science” — something we believe will come as a refreshing change to many of our colleagues in this industry. For more information on PharmSep, and to register now before the event is full, please see the PharmSep brochure in this issue or go to the official PharmSep website at www.LCGCevent.com, where you will also find the complete program and online registration form. We hope you are as excited as we are that this long-awaited event will be taking place, and as usual, you can contact myself or any of the staff members on our masthead with any questions you might have. I’ll see you in Philadelphia. David Walsh Editor-in-Chief David.Walsh@advanstar.com http://www.LCGCevent.com
