FME has taken “The X Factor” into the toiletries and confectionery categories. ScentUps UK has been licensed rights to produce shower gel, lip gloss, body shimmer, eau de toilette, and perfume for both men and women. The toiletry range will be available throughout the UK at retailers such as Superdrug, Asda, and The Perfume Shop. Kinnerton Confectionery Ltd. has been granted rights to create a range of “The X Factor” confectionery, a confectionery board game has been developed exclusively for Marks & Spencer stores, and Tesco has developed five exclusive lines. “The X Factor” fans can also treat themselves to juke boxes and fridge magnets from Steepletone Products Ltd. as well as a branded DVD board game that has been developed exclusively for Marks & Spencer stores by Hallmark Cards. “We are really pleased to announce such a wide range of new and exciting products for 'The X Factor,' which will be in store for Christmas 2007,” says Dominic Burns, senior vice president, licensing, UK. “We have evolved ‘The X Factor’ to become a true lifestyle brand that fans can interact with across multiple platforms and in all areas of their lives. Factory Get Animated with New Deal Jetix Europe and Shout! Factory signed a new agreement in North America that will see the entertainment company handling home entertainment distribution of the animated series “Pucca” and “Oban Star Racers.” The exclusive license agreement includes the distribution of 39 halfhour episodes of the awardwinning “Pucca,” as well as 26 half-hour episodes of the sci-fi action series “Oban Star-Racers.” “This agreement develops further the TV presence of these properties in North America,” says Tina Lorenzo, director of international home entertainment, Jetix Consumer Products, adding that it will help Jetix “distribute the colorful and adventurous Pucca and Oban Star Racers into homes of North America.” “This new deal with Jetix Europe further 18 www.licensemag.com August 2007 supports our commitment to broadening our library of kids & family-friendly entertainment content,” says Garson Foos, president, Shout! Factory. The “Pucca” series is based on the funky cult Korean property created by VOOZ Co. Ltd., which originated as an animated e-card service. “Oban StarRacers” is an adventure series that chronicles the Great Race of _ban, an intergalactic racing competition that takes place every 10,000 years to determine the winner of a mysterious ultimate prize and the balance of powers within the galaxy.
