I received some orientation and spoke with the physician there. It was very helpful, and I hope I can do that before each contract.” As for the future, he currently has three opportunities lined up, with the first at a facility in the Plains. Beyond that, Dr. King is considering pursuing contracts in the Carolinas, Florida, and the Southwest. “Locum tenens is an ideal way to finish the twilight of a career,” he offers. “I find the possibility of going to different places exciting because I always learn something from providing services in new settings and traveling to other communities. In return, I am usually able to lend some advice wherever I go. Plus, I meet more physicians and make new friends, which is always fun.
