Include letters of references from each facility where you have practiced in your credentialing package. Remember that money is not always the most important part of a contract. Be courteous, respectful, and professional, and always perform at a high level. desire comes from both sides of the locum tenens equation. Physicians have already gone through the credentialing rigors and are familiar with the staff and the setting, so they may wish to extend the relationship or choose longer-term contracts up front. If demand is more episodic, then clients might want the same physician to return as needed instead of longterm stints, retaining that same familiarity. DS: If physicians are on for a week, and it is a good match, we are seeing a lot of them return for repeat appearances. Primary care physicians seem to want longer contracts, probably because there is a greater chance for continuity of care in that scenario. Ultimately, the decision depends on personal motivation.
