LocumLife - March 2009 - (Page 31) DESTINATIONS Anyone’s Guess C ompleted in 1919, this unique estate was built upon 184 acres in New England. Its designer and owner—who spent the first part of his semi-retirement here—was known for his work in theater as an actor, director, and playwright. Constructed with local fieldstone, the estate boasts 24 rooms, and no two of its 47 doors are the same. In 1943, the residence was purchased by its home state, and today, visitors can enjoy tours through the house and grounds, which feature walking paths, stone-arch bridges, a railroad station, vegetable cellar, and goldfish pond. Can you name the attraction? It’s anyone’s guess. TO QUALIFY for this month’s giveaway—a $100 Marriott gift card—simply tell us the name of the pictured attraction and where it is located (city and state). E-mail your answers to locumguess@advanstar.com or mail a postcard to our new address. For complete rules, see facing page. www.LocumLife.com MARCH 2009 LocumLife 31 http://www.LocumLife.com
