After a 37-year career with GM, including his most recent post as executive director for the company’s Service and Parts Operation, Miller retired in April at the age of 60. “Duane Miller’s extensive automotive industry experience, particularly within the area of hard parts distribution, greatly compliments the company’s focus on customer service, growth and quality. N GK Spark Plugs has opened a new 85,000-square-foot, state-ofthe-art facility in West Virginia, which the company says will add new jobs and a capacity to manufacture 20 million spark plugs per year. The company recently featured a grand opening ceremony for its third manufacturing plant in the U.S. in Sissonville, West Virginia, which included visits from Governor Joe Manchin, Senator Jay Rockefeller and Representative Shelley Moore Capito. The plant is expected to provide more than 80 new jobs for area residents. Two manufacturing lines are slated to begin producing plugs in July 2008. Shinichi Odo, president and CEO of NGK Spark Plugs, USA, said the plant will further strengthen NGK’s global network and better position the company to service its North American manufacturing customers. In North America, NGK is headquartered in Wixom, Michigan, and maintains manufacturing, inventory, and distribution facilities in Irvine, California, Sissonville, West Virginia, and Chicago, Illinois.
