While trade and legal professionals say there are no readily available statistics regarding the exact number and cost of product liability and/or personal injury suits affecting the industry, every suspension veteran knows at least one horror story. “Unfortunately, [lawsuits] are frequent,” says Loren Snyder, president of ProComp Suspension in Chula Vista, California. “Some are probably no fault of the aftermarket industry, but we all suffer the blame.” He adds that suits can involve anything from manufacturing defects to install errors to sales of incorrect applications. Steven W.
