Houseboating Adventures - Issue 17 - (Page 65) Forever Resorts has been in the marine and boat rental business for more than 25 years. It’s a challenge to keep up with customer requests and trends of upgraded boat amenities, shorter and more frequent vacations and other desires of our guests necessary to make their vacation the most memorable experience possible. We try to anticipate a possible need beforehand – which makes for a genuinely relaxing vacation for everyone. HBA: What are the biggest advantages Forever Resorts has developed over its competition? DC: Forever developed a variety of unique and popular destinations across the U.S. in some of the most beautiful National Parks and Recreation areas. Having the ability to maintain a high quality and elite fleet of houseboats across the U.S. has definitely given us an edge over our competition. One of our managed companies, Fun Country Marine Industry is the preferred and only supplier of houseboats for our customized rental fleet. Our Forever Houseboats have evolved into a luxury houseboat directly from honest customer feedback. As a matter of fact, the original design of our 56’ Forever 10 model was developed as a collection of wishes from our marine staff, marketing department and our houseboat customers. In developing the innovative and functional floor plan of the Forever 10 customer comments were the main reasons we took the footage of the exterior walkway around the houseboat and included it within the livable space of the rental houseboat. Renters believed this area was wasted space so in essence the functionality of the houseboat was a direct result of listening to what our customers wanted. The boat was an immediate success. When customers walked on board they instantly thought the boat seemed bigger than our competition’s houseboats. The Forever 10 houseboat was exactly the same 14 foot width dimension of the older houseboats we rented with the outside area included on the inside of the main cabin. We also went from providing gaucho beds that masqueraded as a couch with plastic covered foam pads that pulled out into a bed or boats with bunk beds vinyl covered foam pads into actual queen size beds – real beds in sleeping areas. Feedback from guests told us they wanted to wake up refreshed in a real bed on vacation and they were tired of bringing along sleeping bags. They wanted the luxury of having real sheets and blankets already supplied on board the boat. We took it a step further and provided the sheets and blankets plus added towels aboard and included these amenities in the pricing. HBA: What is the biggest change you have noticed in houseboating vacations in the past four years? )6B@" A05("%C&5AB9&@
