AM: Well, I think that one good way to describe it, we were there about an hour before the show started to do some last minute details with the Gibson people and Wahoo Marine, and when my wife saw that boat – it took three days to get the smile off of her face. It’s very impressive; it’s a beautiful boat. HBA: Tell me about it. We’ve already previously heard the basic details, how did it actually turn out? Tell me about the interior. KM: It turned out above and beyond our expectations. They did everything that we wanted to accomplish and did it in a beautiful manner with the two queen sized beds separated with the two closets, each with our own TV. It’s going to work out very nicely. They got the little computer desk area in with some storage there that’s going to be very functional. We had asked to put a cabinet, or an open cupboard let’s call it, an open shelf area with a nice mirror with it in the hallway area of the bedroom suite and that turned out very nice. It makes the area, of course, look much larger, plus it gives us, with several of us on the boat it gives us an extra place to check yourself out, make sure that you’re all right. HBA: So, everything on the boat was just perfect then? KM: Oh, absolutely. HBA: What was your biggest surprise about the boat? AM: Well, my biggest surprise what that crown that they put on that extends from the sun deck back over the area where the engines are located and partially over the swim platform. That turned out to be a wonderful little area, they put some nice lighting on the underside of it and put a sound system there and that created a whole new environment of it’s own. It has some shaded area and it is just a peaceful place to be. It turned out much better than I expected. When they initially called and asked you if this was something that you would consider doing, my initial reaction was ‘whoa, more money for what?’ And after initial discussion brother and I decided to let them go ahead and do it and it really added to the appearance of the boat and the practicality of it. We need to get a small crane mounted on the rear of the boat. KM: We’ll have a divot put on that crown back over the stern to pick up a tender of some kind and set on there. That crown’s capable of holding a couple of wave runners, or whatever you want to do, but we’ll put a little shuttle boat up there. HBA: What about that top deck, how did that come out? KM: Everything is great and the way the wife talks about it; it’s like the Starship Enterprise. AM: The outstanding job done on the stainless steel railings and matching radar arch really adds to the striking appearance of the boat. Our davits are currently being designed in the same manner. Top and left: The twin helms of the Gibson offer complete control at both stations. Opposite page right: The walkway that leads from the galley to the main salon with its twin queen sized beds.
