noteworthies PROMOTIONS HONORS NEW HIRES DataSource Honors Customer Service Leaders The American Gas Association/Edison Electric Institute DataSource customer service metrics benchmarking program recently presented Tracy Barr, Greg Baker and Mary Rollins of Alabama Power with its AGL Resources has announced it has completed its merger with Nicor Inc., creating the nation’s largest natural gas–only distribution company based on customer count. With an enterprise value of $9.5 billion, the company will serve about 4.5 million utility customers in seven states. AGL Resources also announced that Standard & Poor’s added AGL Resources’ common stock to the S&P 500 Index after the close of trading on Monday, Dec. 12, replacing Nicor Inc. Effective Friday, Dec. 16, the combined company assumed Nicor’s ticker symbol— GAS—in trading on the New York Stock Exchange. AGL Resources also announced the senior leaders of the combined company. Reporting to John Somerhalder II, chairman, president and CEO, are: Andrew W. Evans, EVP and CFO; Hank Linginfelter, EVP, distribution operations; Melanie M. Platt, EVP, chief people ofﬁcer and president, AGL Resources Foundation; Paul R. Shlanta, EVP, general counsel and chief ethics and compliance ofﬁcer; and Peter Tumminello, EVP, wholesale services and president, Sequent Energy Management. Additionally, the company announced the following key business unit leaders: Ralph Cleveland, EVP and president of Nicor Gas, overseeing utility operations in Illinois; Steve Lindsey, SVP of Southern operations and president of Atlanta Gas Light, Florida City Gas and Chattanooga Gas; Jodi Gidley, SVP of Mid-Atlantic operations and president of Virginia Natural Gas, Elizabethtown Gas and Elkton Gas; Michael Braswell, president of retail energy; Beth Reese, SVP and president of retail services; Mike Pellicci, president of Tropical Shipping, leading the Florida-based containerized cargo carrier which serves customers in the Caribbean and Bahamas; Bryan Seas, SVP and chief accounting ofﬁcer; and Steve Cittadine, president, Storage and Fuels. highest honor, the Bishop Award, in recognition of their signiﬁcant contributions to the content, processes and meetings of the DataSource program. Pending all required approvals, Exelon and Constellation expect to complete the merger in early 2012. Erik Hansen has joined PwC US as a partner in the ﬁrm’s Risk Assurance Services practice. Hansen will oversee PwC’s Internal Audit Services for the greater Houston region, focusing on companies in the oil and gas industry sector. WGL Holdings Inc. has hired Leslie T. Thornton as VP and general counsel. She succeeds Beverly J. Burke, who retired at the end of 2011. Glace will become SVP and chief risk ofﬁcer for the combined company, reporting to President and CEO Christopher M. Crane. Also upon completion of the merger, Brenda L. Boultwood will become SVP, enterprise risk management, credit risk and trading policy compliance; Michael G. Pechin will become VP, wholesale operations; Daniel M. Scobell will become VP, market risk and analytics; and Robert J. Gauch will be VP, credit risk for the combined company. In related news, Exelon and Constellation have announced that after the merger is complete, Kenneth W. Cornew will become EVP and chief commercial ofﬁcer of Exelon and president and CEO of Constellation. The post-merger senior leadership team at Constellation will include the following executives: Mark Huston will Alabama Power’s Tracy Barr accepts the 2011 DataSource Bishop Award, which recognizes signi cant contributions to the AGA/ EEI customer service metrics benchmarking program.
