The solution is intended to capture gas that would otherwise be flared, compress it, and use it to fuel well-site vehicles and equipment. The system is based on a modified version of Ge's cnG in a Box system, statoil says. statoil is testing the technique and hopes to be using it in the first quarter of 2014. The total impact on labor income is $598 billion, or 6.3 percent of national labor income. For extraction, transportation, and most other activities, the report considers oil and gas together. But it does break out natural gas distribution separately. Gas distribution employs 112,300, providing a total labor income of $15.6 billion. It currently has just under 20 trailers that each carry as much as 355,000 cubic feet of natural gas around the clock to customers-including hospitals, asphalt plants, and paper mills-that have converted from propane, oil, wood pellets, and other fuels. CEO Neale Lunderville told American Gas that NG Advantage is on track to buy and deliver 1.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas in its first year. With more companies seeking to capitalize on the cost and environmental advantages of natural gas, trucked natural gas is a growing industry, especially in the Northeast. Xpress Natural Gas operates in New England, New York, New Jersey, and eastern Canada. NG Advantage recently announced plans to expand into New Hampshire with a compression facility that will more than double its current capacity.
