state watch oreGon Jordan Cove Gets the Nod Facility becomes seventh approved by DOE for LNG exports COOS BAY, OR - The U.S. Department of Energy has conditionally approved the proposed Jordan Cove Energy Project here to export LNG to countries that do not have a free trade agreement with the United States. The DOE authorized Jordan Cove to export up to 0.8 Bcf/d of natural gas for 20 years. The $7.5 billion project includes a liquefaction terminal, a 230-mile feeder pipeline, and a natural gas-fired power plant to serve the liquefaction operation. The project must now receive approval from the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission before beginning construction. The facility would be located on the north shore of Coos Bay, near the channel that connects the bay to the Pacific Ocean as well as North Bend Municipal Airport.
