He has over 20 years of project management experience in Engineering, Construction and Information Technology (IT). He has over 10 years of experience in Database management specializing in the development and support of web-based applications and database systems. He has lectured at several colleges and universities on topics related to database design, database administration, and construction project management. He has written several training manuals on Database Design, Database Administration, and Project Management Software. Jeff Beeler is a retired Captain from the La Mesa Fire and has over 32 years of emergency response service. He was responsible for supervising fire-ground incidents, EMS, rescue, hazardous material and other emergency activities, as well, as coordinating the confined space and rescue programs. Jeff created JB Safety & Rescue Services, a company that provides services such as safety & rescue training, confined space management, stand-by rescue and hazardous site management. He has provided stand-by rescue and confined space management services for many companies. From 1995 to 2007, Jeff has been active with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Association) as a Rescue Team Manager on a San Diego based Urban Search and Rescue Team. He was involved with the World Trade Center disaster search and rescue effort in 2001, floods in Northern California in 1997 and Hurricane Rita in 2005. He was also involved in the California Office of Emergency Services “Water Rescue Team” as a Rescue Specialist for many years. Sam Iler AGC Safety Services / SafeCon Consulting Group Inc. Sam Iler began his career at a young age, picking up broken block for his father’s masonry company. He worked his way up through the masonry trade to become a project manager, and eventually took over the family business. Along the way he completed a degree in business, and ventured into the carpentry trade as a structural concrete carpenter. He later moved on to become the regional field safety director for a global construction company. Sam again had the opportunity to run his own business, and SafeCon Consulting Group was born. One of the first clients at SafeCon was the AGC. Sam carries out the duties of the Director of Safety Services for the AGC, along with managing SafeCon’s field personnel staffing projects and providing safety and risk services to a client list of over 300. Sam’s experience as a tradesman, contractor, and safety director brings real work experience and firsthand knowledge of actually constructing buildings to his philosophy of safety and risk management. Ed Wenz Preconstruction Estimator / Software Specialist Ed Wenz has been a conceptual estimator for Reno Contracting Inc. for about five years. With a subcontracting background in the construction industry for the past 25 years as superintendent, project manager and chief estimator, Ed has since migrated into the general contracting side of the industry as an estimator for the past seven years and enjoys having the perspective of having worked on both sides of the contracting fence. With extensive expertise in estimating programs and takeoff systems, Ed has led Reno Contracting through a transition of technological refinements including the use of On-Screen Takeoff. Virtually all of Reno’s estimate takeoffs are done without paper plans and provide instant access to any of their drawings and related takeoffs. Ed has been heavily involved with iSqFt and their General Contractors Advisory Panel in conjunction with the AGC to help promote & standardize the use of digital technology and online plans to the building industry. In addition, Ed is a Board member of the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) San Diego Chapter 4. Loretta Walden Kelar Corporation, San Diego Ms. Walden has over 16 years of project management field experience with 12 years managing at Kelar Corporation. Ms Walden comes from a construction management background with Fluor Daniel, Inc.; where she implemented and managed a Document, Contract and Control System. As a Project Manger and a team leader for Kelar Corporation, Ms. Walden manages the contract management and document control systems for Kelar’s clients. She designs integrated accounting, scheduling, document control, and communication procedures in conjunction with the use of web based construction management systems for controlling projects and better system wide reporting. Ms. Walden has successfully project managed and has implemented project control systems software and procedures with a multitude of clients from a large diversity of disciplines. Greg Izor, AIA Principal Architect Mr. Izor is the Principal Architect and Owner of an architectural consulting firm in Escondido, California. In the twenty-eight years of operating his own architectural firm, Mr. Izor has provided services for a wide variety of projects, and won several design awards. He is experienced in all phases of architectural services for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional projects in both the private and public sector. Mr. Izor is also experienced in providing access compliance reviews and expert testimony in construction related litigation and arbitration. Tom Lunneburg, P.E. Innovative Energy Solutions, Principle Mr. Lunneburg provides building systems commissioning, energy modeling, and LEED® process facilitation services for new and existing buildings. Tom applies 15 years of hands on energy efficiency and sustainability project experience to a variety of project and client types and a balanced mix of technical skills and managerial responsibility to IES projects. In addition to experience in the evaluation of energy projects for cost effectiveness and performance verification, he provides analysis for commercial, municipal, military, institutional, and healthcare facilities. Mr. Lunneburg has conducted over 1,000 energy audits throughout California and has supplied training to numerous clients on topics of energy management, sustainability, and commissioning. Tom York TALL Tom has a Master’s degree in MPA & RTPL, Bachelor of Psychology and Owner of “Training Academy for Leadership and Learning” (TALL) which provides contemporary and highly supported goal development and alignment strategies that are results based and measurable for maximizing human development and profitability. “TALL” develops training, facilitation and instruction to provide strategic planning process, energy and time management processes, and executive & manager level leadership.
