In concert with these are course offerings traditionally from the graphic design world, including concept development, typography, drawing and perspective, storyboarding and color theory. Students in the Advertising degree program apply practical concepts gleaned from case studies in a variety of areas such as branding, online marketing, strategic management and account planning, and are taught by experienced instructors working in businesses or advertising agencies in sales management, web design and editing, account management and media planning. Advertising program graduates will frequently act as liaisons for client and creative teams, conveying key industry trends and metrics in effective visual language. The Advertising program receives invaluable input from its Program Advisory Board whose volunteer members are ad agency presidents and business owners, marketing consultants and multimedia designers, nonprofit managers and executive directors. Advertising program graduates will learn a unique skill set for entry-level career positions in a broad range of industries and specialties, including: account service, public relations, brand management, corporate marketing, entertainment and the arts, and human relations and marketing research. The Mission of the Advertising Bachelor of Science degree program at The Art Institutes is to prepare graduates for careers in the advertising profession by providing a foundation in the business aspects of advertising while helping them develop the basic creative and technical skills necessary to create and implement targeted advertising solutions that meet professional standards of excellence.
