By applying a dress mask I spray along the edges to add the shadow; you can see the matching part to the right. To render the top of the stocking I put the dress and leg masks in place as you see pictured here. Next I’ll render the toes and legs in one step; this goes quickly and only takes about five minutes. To render her face I make a small acetate mask by drawing the facial features right on the acetate and cutting them out. The eyes, nose and lips are done in that order referring back to my original reference often during the painting process. I loosely lay out the arms and skirt just for reference. Going back to the face I start on the nose using a very thin candy applying it at very low air pressure. The candy color I have reduced approximately 200 percent and work very slow and carefully. With the facial features pretty much complete I mask that area off with transfer tape too start rendering her hair. For the hair I use House of Kolor tangerine and black candy over reduced using light wispy strokes.
