Airbrush Technique Issue 12 - (Page 16) Hey everybody welcome to this installment of Ask Jammer. This is the first installment of the New Year and I can’t believe 2005 has come and gone. I hope everyone had a great 2005; I know I did opening a new store in July and have been ever busy since. I’d like to thank everyone who sent in letters in 2005, and can’t wait to see what you all ask me this year. My first question of the New Year is one I saved from a few weeks ago and I think it will work great with Valentines Day right around the corner. Mary from Ohio wrote: Hi Jammer, I got my first issue of Airbrush Techniques Magazine in August and I think the whole magazine is great! I’m so glad there is a magazine that focuses on the artwork and technique and not all the ads that most magazines do. Anyway I have learned so much from your articles, I like it when you show us the how to designs. Could you do a couples design that my boyfriend wouldn’t feel weird about wearing? Something that isn’t to girly. Thank you and keep up the good work! Mary, Columbus, Ohio Thanks for the letter Mary I’m glad you enjoy the magazine. I know we all work hard to make each issue packed with as much useful info as possible. It isn’t easy but it’s what you all asked for and we’re trying to come through for you all. I’m also glad you find my articles useful; I hope you all learn something from them you can use in your own airbrushing projects. Again I have to say if it wasn’t for all you guys sending me your e-mails I wouldn’t have anything to write about so thank you all. This is a couple’s design, which has been around for a while, it’s not my original design but will be new for a lot of you all. The colors I will use are black, white, gray, red, hot pink, and violet. If you have any questions you’d like answered here in the magazine, you can send them to me at: askjammer@evenlink.com If you’d like to see some of my work, you can check out my website at: http://www.freewebs.com/airdesigns/ Step#1: The first step is to use spray adhesive applying it on the back of the stencil; after allowing it to air dry for a few minutes place the stencil on the shirt. Make sure you press around the cutouts so you don’t get any overspray under those parts of the stencil. Now you want to use your red and spray around the edges of the heart working your way toward the center, leave the centers of the hearts white for the next step. Step#2: Next we’ll use hot pink and fill in the rest of the hearts, the area in the centers we left white in step #1. After doing this use the violet and lightly go around the outer edge of the hearts to give it a rounded look, this makes the hearts look like they’re 3D and not just flat. http://www.freewebs.com/airdesigns/
