Airbrush Technique Issue 21 - (Page 13) #16- A few passes with the white and I’ve built up a shiny, smooth looking glove. This is the base which I’ll build off of. I’ll add some stitching and it’s ready for some red. #18- Hard to see the white through the #19- Now I’ll add some red/ blue mixture red in this photo, but it’s still there. The to create my darker -shadow area on the highlights are still visible in this my mid- glove. dle grade of red. #20- Masked off the Glove and onto it’s onto Woody’s blue body. Same as before, I’ll go over the area with white so my color comes through. #21- For Woody’s jacket a light spray of blue, followed up by mixing blue with candy blue and black. #24- Now onto the other glove, which I could have done at the same time as the first, but for the purpose of this demo I’ll do them one at a time. #26- At this point I have about seven hours into the drawing, prepping and painting. I took off Woody’s mask so I could see how things are looking. This is my break and a good time to review what I’ve done so far. At this point I’ll go back in and darken what needs to be pushed back and highlight what needs to be pulled forward. #27- I finish off his mouth and remove all the masking to get a good look at Woody. I lightly drawn in the hole that woody will have popping out of. #28- I mask Woody again so I don’t get any over spray on him while finishing up the project. After basing the back ground white I whipped up a mixture of white, yellow and orange for the background color. The wood grain is a red and black mix; darker at the bottom and lighter as it goes up. To highlight the outer edge of the hole I quickly threw some white against it. http://www.airbrushartistmagazine.com
