Airbrush Technique Issue 22 - (Page 15) I then use Frisket to mask out the aircraft and ship and spay a base blue for the water. I grade it on a diagonal lighter to darker from top left corner to bottom right. I then add the propeller arc using a transparent spray and then a white prop tip over sprayed with yellow. The ships wake was done with a paintbrush and sponge. The wave crests are painted with a shim of a sponge and then randomly dabbed. Finally the cockpit, glass and ship detail are added and I clean up any mistakes. I then send it to a professional photo lab to get scanned . Once finished I send the CD disc to the client and get paid. Next! It used to be a difficult and time-consuming illusion. No More! Wood grain is simple and easy, and can be tweaked to look like any type of wood, from Golden Oak to Mahogany, and anything in-between. Basic Fundamental #1 - Define and describe what you are trying to create. The definition that I’m going to use: Wood is hard and fibrous structural tissue produced in the stems of woody plants. Wood grain describes the alignment, texture and appearance of the wood fibers. Wood can vary in color from offwhite to black, but is most commonly in shades of brown. Whew! That was a mouthful. On to the fun stuff! http://www.BigDaddyCustoms.net http://www.BigDaddyCustoms.net
