Airbrush Technique Issue 23 - (Page 24) Step 7: Now that sunrise yellow has been painted we move on to our detailing colors. We use orange first and lightly fade over the middle shade, then use light brown. This will help your art pop! The more colors the better in my book. Step 8: The next color we will use is deep red transparent. Just like sunrise yellow I will spray deep red over the dark brown on the right body parts. I start on the right side because it has less reflection and was good for a starting point. At the top shoulder I build more of the amour by adding more paint. Step 9: Using deep red I move to the left side. I’m very careful to fade without taking out the highlights. You want to keep the different shapes in the amour, so fade from the top dark shade of the dark brown to the light shade. Try not to flatten your shapes in the amour by adding to much red. Step 10: There are two things that have taken place by this photo. The first was highlights on the amour. With the light source coming from the top left side I take white and add it to our light spots. I also put highlights where the metal bends or curves second; I put sky blue around the eyes, the center of his chest and the energy coming from his feet. I then add white in the center to make it glow. Step 11: I need more depth so I add more black to my dark areas. Step12: Pull out your Frisket Film we will use it on the T Shirt. This Frisket Film is low tack, you might find it easier to use a masking material that will hold a bit better. Step 13: Lay a sheet of Frisket Film over your artwork carefully cut the Frisket so it covers just your artwork. To help from making a mistake and cutting into the shirt you should cut from the side so you can see the blade easy. Step 14: After I remove the Frisket Film from around the art I add a box around the entire design using masking tape. Step 15: After taping off the box I start to fill it in with sky blue.
