Airbrush Technique Issue 23 - (Page 30) When you open CutStudio it opens as an untitled project, if this is something you want to save now is the time to save it to a folder on your computer. If you have used Photoshop, illustrator or other image, graphic programs you should have no problem finding your way around CutStudio. The white area is of course the area you type your lettering into so the bounders are all set and its pretty straight forward. Click on the text tool and place your cursor within the working area, type in the lettering you wish to cut. You want to keep your lettering close to the top of the work area as that is actually the top of your material in the cutter. To cut down on wasted material where you place your lettering within the work area is important. For this article I used the words Airbrush Technique. To format the lettering click on FORMAT at the top of CutStudio. In the box that comes up you can format the lettering, change the size, font style, letter spacing, postion, align with a curve and much more. At any time you can click on the select tool and than the lettering to reposition it within the work area or resize the letters. You could also drag the lettering to any position you wish within the work area with the select tool. Once you have the lettering formated to your liking click on CUTTING at the top of CutStudio to send the data to Stika to begin the cutting process. One of the advantages to buying a bigger cutter is the speed it will cut your design at or so I was told by the sales person; the Stika cuts designs fast enough for me and I saw no disadvantage at all in that area.
