Palm - Fall 2007 - (Page 14) The 2007 ATO Awards Banquet brought a few surprises this year, as the Alpha Theta chapter at Emory University was named this year’s Top Chapter. Based on the credentials, however, it should come as no surprise that the Alpha Theta chapter’s tradition of excellence and outstanding performance in the classroom and in the community earned it Top Chapter honors. The chapter carried a robust 3.47 GPA. This year’s Top Chapter Runner-up is the Gamma Theta chapter at the University of Nebraska. The chapter has a long tradition of excellence, and is second among all ATO chapters in total number of True Merit bowls. True Merit Bowls were handed out to 21 chapters, with 20 of those chapters being onsite in Indianapolis, Ind. to pick up hardware at the 2007 Awards Banquet. Nineteen chapters were honored with True Merit Honorable Mention. www.ato.org 14 The Thomas Arkle Clark award is given out every year to the nation’s most outstanding undergraduate ATO, and this year’s winner is Dan Bland, Baylor ’05.
