Hughes, Alabama ’60, was elected as the new National President. Hughes is the former Executive Vice-President of Marketing and Chief Operating Ofﬁcer for Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company and Primesco, Inc. Hughes received his B.A. from the University of Alabama, completed the majority of his M.B.A. work at Drake University and received his MBA from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He also received an Associates Degree in Insurance and Financial Marketing from Northwest Missouri State University. Hughes worked for more than 40 years in the insurance industry and has served his community and his country, selﬂessly. Hughes served as an Infantry Ofﬁcer in the U.S. Army in the republic of Vietnam and left the service of the U.S. Army Reserve in 1979 with various decorations and honors at the rank of Lt. Colonel. Hughes and his wife, Nancy, have four sons, three of which are ATOs, and four grandchildren.
