Since partnering with CEDARS in 2003, Gamma Theta has raised nearly$20,000 for CEDARS, an organization that provides shelter and care for abused and neglected children of the Lincoln, Neb. area. KENT STATE >> Zeta Zeta Zeta Zeta’s Signature Event, Cornhole for a Cure, was held Sept. 20, 2008. This year over 50 teams participated in this annual cornhole tournament held in the middle of campus. The chapter raised over $4,500 in money and material donations for the event. All proceeds from the event went to Tonia Lawley, the mother of the president of KSU’s chapter of Sigma Nu, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. MARYLAND >> Epsilon Gamma Brother Jason Kaslow and brother John Savoy were recently elected as president and treasurer, respectively, of Maryland’s Order of Omega chapter. Order of Omega is a greek leadership honor society that seeks to recognize outstanding members within the greek community. WEST TEXAS A & M >> Zeta Kappa Brothers of the Zeta Kappa Chapter recently went around to campus dorms in order to collect clothing for victims of hurricane Ike. Brothers knocked on nearly 100 doors asking for used clothing or blankets that could be spared. The chapter was able to collect bedding and eight trash bags full of clothing for the victims in south Texas. JAMES MADISON >> Kappa Zeta The Kappa Zeta chapter finished its second annual Rock 4 R.A.K. Signature Event. This year the event featured four live bands, a mechanical bull, hot dog eating contest, dunk tank, and a volleyball tournament that fielded over 30 teams. The event raised over $3,700 and drew over 350 attendees. MARIETTA >> Beta Rho The chapter, together with some Cleveland area Alumni, raised $5,000 last weekend to combat Multiple Sclerosis with the event Pedal to the Point from Cleveland to Sandusky, Ohio. MERCER >> Alpha Zeta The Alpha Zeta chapter continues to hold it’s dominating presence on the Mercer campus as it had the highest GPA of all fraternities for the seventh consecutive year. Its presence is further felt in student organizations, as John Buckner and Stephen Dominy are presidents of the SGA and IFC, respectively. NORTH ALABAMA >> Theta Eta The Theta Eta chapter has six of the ten males that are in the university ambassadors program known as The LaGrange Society, including the society’s co-captain. Being a part of The LaGrange Society is considered the highest non-academic honor a student can receive at the University of North Alabama. TEXAS STATE-SAN MARCOS >> Iota Alpha The Iota Alpha chapter at Texas State recently sponsored a booth at the “Day for Kids” event held on the Texas State campus. The chapter helped run and supervise the three-legged race for the children that attended the event. NORTHERN KENTUCKY >> Theta Omega The Theta Omega chapter has had a great start to the 2008-2009 academic year. The Northern Kentucky Taus held their third annual Jam in the Sand philanthropy event to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This event was the most profitable Jam in the Sand to date bringing in nearly $1,500. The chapter also brought in the largest pledge class on campus by adding 44 new members. NEBRASKA >> Gamma Theta The Taus of Gamma Theta completed their annual Sorority Softball Tournament benefitting CEDARS Youth Services. After the softball tournament, the chapter sold AT O .
