in graphical form. This allows changes
in production to be recognized much
more quickly. Problems can sometimes
take days to identify. Management can
review data looking for trends, but presenting the same sets of data in charts
that show a visual representation of a
decline or irregular production rate helps
identify problems faster. Finding a leak
the same day versus a day later could
save the organization as much as $4,000
and could substantially reduce potentially
large environmental liabilities.
Moreover, the reports that company
sends to its partners are more userfriendly. They can scroll through the information more quickly, thanks to the
charts and graphs that are now included.
Partners receive reports only on the wells
they are invested in, making it much
easier to review their interests.
A year after Parsley began reviewing
of its data entry process, the system is
more streamlined and efficient. Additionally, Parsley is piloting a new version
of the software that was built from the

ground up over the past year and leverages
new technology to make the SaaS-based
platform faster and more intuitive while
improving integration with other software
systems, such as accounting, land and
economic modeling. Parsley Energy will

continue to be a frontrunner in using
technology for the oil and gas industry,
and will review future technological advancements as it continues to grow and
develop its operating base.

Niobrara Horizontals IP An Average 800 Boe/d
HOUSTON-The first 11 producing
wells in its horizontal Niobrara and Codell
drilling program experienced average initial production rates of 800 barrels of oil
equivalent a day, Anadarko Petroleum
Corporation reports. The wells were
drilled in the Wattenberg Field in northeastern Colorado.
Anadarko says its best well, the Dolph
27-1HZ, IPed at more than 1,100 barrels
of oil and 2.4 million cubic feet of natural
gas (1,505 boe combined) a day and paid
out in less than four months. Eight other
Niobrara wells ranged from 555 boe/d to
1,225 boe/d, the company adds. Two Codell
wells had IPs of 670 and 795 boe/d.
"Based on the early results . . . we are

confident (our) liquids-rich horizontal
Niobrara and Codell opportunity provides
a net resource potential of 500 million1.5 billion boe," states Anadarko Senior
Vice President, Worldwide Operations,
Chuck Meloy.
He adds, "The results demonstrate the
Wattenberg horizontal program is among
the most cost efficient development projects in our U.S. onshore portfolio, with
initial wells averaging payouts of 10
months."
Anadarko indicates it plans to increase
its Wattenberg horizontal program to
seven rigs by the end of 2012, and will
drill approximately 160 wells this year,
compared with 40 in 2011.

GALLAGHER

Matt Gallagher is engineering and geoscience manager at Parsley Energy LLC in Midland,
Tx. Prior to joining Parsley in September 2010, Gallagher served five years at Pioneer
Natural Resources, where he held various engineering roles, including Gulf of Mexico Shelf
reservoir engineer, Hugoton Field reservoir engineer, and Spraberry production and operations
engineer. Subsequent to those duties, Gallagher was the investor relations supervisor, serving
as primary liaison to the investment and analyst community. He oversaw the IPO process for
Pioneer Southwest Energy Partners LP, coordinated the valuation for the Gulf of Mexico Shelf
divestiture, and designed and implemented some of the first Wolfberry hydraulic fracturing
treatments for Pioneer in 2006. Gallagher holds a B.S. in petroleum engineering from
Colorado School of Mines.

HAGLUND

Stephen M. Haglund is president and chief executive officer of Dallas-based NeoFirma, a
provider of on-demand SaaS software solutions for oil and gas companies. With 20 years of
experience in strategy, business development, marketing, operations and practice development
in the IT and oil and gas industries, he joined NeoFirma in 2010. Most recently at Perficient,
a public IT services consultancy, Haglund served as general manager of one of the largest
national business integration practices. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as vice
president of Insolexen, a business integration services company that was acquired by Perficient.
Prior to that, Haglund was a manager with Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) and served
in various capacities with webMethods, Baker Hughes and FMC. He holds a B.S. in chemical
engineering from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the Cox School of Business at
Southern Methodist University.
