GeoTeric Improves Use Of Broadband Seismic
LONDON-GeoTeric 2015.3 marks a
major step forward in the evolution of cognitive interpretation, GeoTeric says. The
company explains the release offers groundbreaking high-resolution frequency decomposition (HDFD) technologies suitable for
both broadband and conventional data.
HDFD employs advanced frequency
splitting techniques that have been developed
for the complex waveforms of broadband
seismic, GeoTeric reports. In line with the
rest of the GeoTeric software, it is an interactive, example-driven tool designed to
work in symbiosis with the user's cognitive
capabilities, GeoTeric says. The company
suggests that such symbiosis encourages
progressive thinking and improves geologic
understanding before interpretation.
The HDFD technique allows users to
reveal at seismic resolution the detail of
their data's geological elements, which the
company says will enable more precise
delineation and extraction of the stratigraphic
features.

CGG GeoSoftware Unveils Updates To Insight Earth®

PARIS-CGG GeoSoftware has
launched version 3.0 of Insight Earth®,
its 3-D visualization and interpretation
software, which the company says offers
a fresh approach to extracting geological
knowledge from seismic data. CGG adds
that high-impact improvements enhance
the structural and stratigraphic interpretation capabilities of the entire suite of
Insight Earth tools to deliver more accurate
interpretations in less time.
Insight Earth products operate in concert with any seismic interpretation system
so clients can leverage their software investments, the company reports.

With significant new interpretation
technology for PaleoSpark and FaultFractureSpark, CGG indicates users can interpret
a variety of depositional environments
faster and with greater accuracy and geological insight. The company says this is
partly achieved through unique, patented
"footprint removal," a critical data-conditioning step available in all Insight Earth
workflows and applications. Dip-oriented
and oblique footprint now can be removed
from large seismic volumes rapidly and
