Antelope Debuts Centralizer For Close-Tolerance Wells

HOUSTON-Casing and cementation
equipment designer, manufacturer and
seller Antelope Oil Tool has developed
the CentraMax® PI1 (push-in), an addition
to the CentraMax series.
The company describes the CentraMax
PI1 as an alternative to centralizer subs
in close-tolerance applications, with a design that allows for both reciprocation
and rotation type applications, and pushin installation between two external anchor
devices. According to the company, the
centralizer is to be used when the annular
clearance between the casing outer di-

ameter and restriction inner diameter are
sufficient, negating the requirement for a
more expensive centralizer sub solution.
"Antelope's 'to the pipe' solution provides flexibility of placement and ease of
installation by our trained installation
technicians, and has a significantly lower
manufacturing cost when compared with

Antelope indicates the one-piece centralizer design contributes proven and effective restoring force and standoff in under-reamed hole sections, while being

NAPE Donates $100,000 To IPAA Education Fund
HOUSTON-The North American
Prospect Expo Partners have donated
$100,000 to the Independent Petroleum
Association of America's Education Foundation.
According to the partners, the donation
will go toward IPAA and the Petroleum
Equipment & Services Association's Energy Education Center, which provides
high school students with advanced science, technology, engineering and math
experiences that would allow for oil and
gas careers.
Specifically, the donation will fund
the Education Center's guest speaker lectures on teamwork and business dynamics,
industry and college site visits, "externship" programs and industry-related competitions at five participating Texas high
schools.

of NAPE's Operators Committee states,
"NAPE Partners are committed to paving
the way for the next generation of industry

Midland's New Products
Help Meet DOT Standards
SKOKIE, IL.-Midland Manufacturing
announces plans to introduce three products: two pressure relief valves, the HighFlowX™ and the Smart-Flow™, and a
detachable handle for bottom outlet valves,
TanktiteTM. Midland says these products
will help customers meet new U.S. Department of Transportation and Transport
Canada regulations for rail tank cars.
The company points out that the first
phase of the transportation standards will
go into effect Oct. 1. Thus, Midland has
worked with shippers and rail tank-car
manufacturers to design products that
meet and surpass current standards. Midland says part of its development process
includes using flow simulations and inlab testing to refine target valve performance characteristics.
"In the current environment, it's a
challenge to define fittings requirements
that can meet the new specifications, but
we are driving the Midland organization
to do just that and to turn those specifications into products faster than we ever
have," Product Manager Bill Galbreath
comments. "We will be ready to offer
products such as Smart-Flow and Tanktite,
during the changeover to DOT-117 rail
car designs."
Midland says its High-FlowX has been
created for customers who want an external
PRV that is capable of handling corrosive
commodities and high flow rates of 30,000
standard cubic feet a minute (scfm). For
an optimized flow, Midland recommends
the Smart-Flow with a flow rate of 12,000
scfm.
Product specifications are available
for review, and Midland confirms it is finalizing plans for the production launch
of these products.

Dragon Products Releases LACT Units For Producers
LIBERTY, TX.-To meet customer
demand and expand its oil field equipment
line, Dragon Products Ltd has released
its first units for lease automatic custody
transfer.

these LACT units will give customers a
total well pad solution, making Dragon
Products a single-source shop for oil producers. He points out that the units will
