* 31 percent of respondents identify
themselves as Democrats, 29 percent as
Republicans, 25 percent as
independents, and a combined 14
percent as other or unsure.

categorize their political ideology as

a combined 13 percent as neither or

AEA Offers Score Card
For Presidential Race

WASHINGTON-The American
Energy Alliance's 2016 President
Candidates Energy Score Card ranks
candidates according to their positions
on energy issues and whether they
embrace free-market policies, the group
says.
According to AEA, the key issues
for its candidate rankings are President
Obama's carbon regulations, windenergy production tax credits,
renewable fuel standards, and other
energy issues. Candidates can earn a
cumulative score as high as 20 points,
and will fall into one of four categories:
* American Energy Hero (16-20
points), "Leading the charge for energy
policies that protect American
families;"
* American Energy Defender (1115 points), "A consistent defender for
energy policies that protect American
families;"
* American Energy Doubter (6-10
points), "Inconsistent or unclear record
in support of energy policies that
protect American families;" and
* American Energy Villain (0-5
points), "Harms American families with
top-down, government-centric
approaches to energy policy."
"This first-of-its-kind score card
shows voters where the presidential
candidates stand on key energy issues,
including Obama's costly carbon
regulations, corporate welfare for wind
lobbyists, and federal ethanol
mandates," says AEA President Thomas
Pyle.
The AEA score card's rankings are
not set in stone, Pyle adds, saying
candidates have the opportunity to
move based on how the presidential
campaign unfolds.
"Some of the candidates have taken
heroic stands for American energy,
some promote villainous policies that
harm the poor and middle class, and
others have unclear or mixed records,"

Pyle says. "Ultimately, the goal is to
help the public hold the candidates
accountable not just for their words, but
also for their actions."

American LNG Receives
Export Authorization
WASHINGTON-The U.S. Department of Energy confirms it has authorized American LNG Marketing LLC to
export domestically produced liquefied
natural gas to countries that do not have
free trade agreements with the United
States.
According to the department, American LNG can export up to the equivalent of 8 million cubic feet a day of natural gas for 20 years from its Medley,
Fl., liquefaction facility.
DOE adds that the Energy Information Administration has forecast a
record average production rate of 79
billion cubic feet a day for 2015. ❒

Joint Venture Building
Bayou Bridge Pipeline

LAKE CHARLES, LA.-Phillips 66,
Energy Transfer Partners LP and
Sunoco Logistics Partners LP are constructing the Bayou Bridge Pipeline,
which they say will deliver crude oil
from the Phillips 66 and Sunoco Logistics terminals in Nederland, Tx., to Lake
Charles.
The companies clarify that Phillips
66 holds 40 percent interest in the venture, while ETP and Sunoco Logistics
each hold 30 percent. Sunoco Logistics
will serve as the system's operator.
According to the joint venture, the
30-inch line is expected to be in commercial operation by first quarter 2016.
The companies say they also will
launch a binding expansion open season
to assess additional shipper interest for
service with connectivity to terminal
systems in the St. James, La., area. The
results of the expansion open season will
be used to determine the size of the
pipeline to St. James, which is scheduled
to be operating by second-half 2017.
"The Bayou Bridge pipeline, combined with the storage and logistics capabilities of our Beaumont terminal,
provides enhanced opportunities to deliver North American heavy and light
crudes into the Louisiana market, which
is heavily dependent on marine and rail
crude oil delivery," comments Greg
Garland, chairman and chief executive
officer of Phillips 66. ❒
