New Flares Handle Both
Low-, High-Pressure Gas
SOUTHLAKE, TX.-After several
months of research and development, Kimark Systems Inc. has unveiled a line of
air-assisted dual flares it says handle lowpressure streams (such as storage vapor)
and high-pressure streams (including gas
from a separator or wellhead) with a single
footprint.
With continuous burning pilots and a
backup auto-ignition system to ensure vapors are ignited, the dual flares achieve 98
percent destruction rate efficiency, Kimark
reports. Their unique means of controlling
the air-to-fuel ratio and carefully designed
burner tips enable the flares to operate
smoke free, the company reports.
The flares come standard with data logging and Modbus communication capabilities, as well as auto-dump main stream
scrubbers and ergonomic access to the pilot
assembly, Kimark says. The flares meet
the requirements set forth in section 60.18
of the New Source Performance Standards,

Basic Adds Horsepower To Its Fracturing Fleet
FORT WORTH-Basic Energy Services
Inc. says it has signed an agreement to
purchase 74,000 hydraulic horsepower for
use in two fracturing spreads.
According to the company, the total
all-in cost of the horsepower and associated
equipment is $28.5 million, less than $400
for each unit of horsepower. Basic predicts
the equipment, which brings its total hydraulic horsepower for fracturing to 431,650,
will be ready for deployment in May.

One Equity Partners Buys Pipe Fitting Manufacturer
EXETER, N.H.-Private equity firm
One Equity Partners has signed a definitive
agreement to acquire Anvil International,
a North American manufacturer of pipe
fittings and system components, from
Mueller Water Products, Anvil reports.
Headquartered in Exeter, Anvil says it
manufactures a comprehensive range of

HOUSTON-To meet customer needs,
Global Tubing LLC announces it is moving
its Northeast Service Center to a purposebuilt, five-acre facility in Smock, Pa., near
the Marcellus and Utica shale plays.
