IBM Watson To Help Flotek
Improve Clients' Production

Drillinginfo, MineralSoft Ally To Monitor Mineral Interests
AUSTIN, TX.-Drillinginfo says it is
expanding its software-as-a-service offerings to mineral management companies
through a strategic collaboration with
MineralSoft, a software platform designed
to make managing mineral, royalty, and
nonoperated working interests easier,
The partners say MineralSoft will tap
Drillinginfo's data to deliver a solution
for managing properties and portfolios
of mineral interests. They say their joint
effort will help identify royalty underpayments and prepare mineral portfolio
insights and analytics in real time.
According to the companies, the solution's capabilities will include:
* GIS mapping of mineral interests;
* Analytics and reporting of revenue,
expense, and volume data by well;

HOUSTON-IBM and Flotek Industries
Inc. report they have signed a global
agreement to develop a cognitive reservoir
performance system for the oil and gas
industry.
According to the companies, the system
will use IBM Watson Explorer technology
to analyze Flotek's proprietary oil field
chemistry research, client-contributed data
and publicly reported data on completions
and production to reveal insights and
identify ways to enhance wells' performance throughout their life cycles. This solution will use machine learning to improve
oil recovery, the companies summarize.
Flotek says its Reservoir Cognitive
Consultant™ (RC2™) service will enable
better decisions using machine learning
to maximize reservoir performance through
the Watson platform. The service will
allow Flotek data scientists and chemists
to search and analyze historical data from
thousands of client wells in real-time and
apply their technical expertise to discover
critical trends and insights, the company
continues. It says the service will deliver
measurable, transformative results.

FORT WORTH-GEODynamics Inc.
has begun field testing for the latest addition to its family of multistage plug
and perf technologies. SandIQ Optimized
Perforating for Diversion is undergoing
field evaluations in the Permian and
Bakken, GEODynamics details.
The patented and patent-pending
SandIQ system generates perforations
with optimized geometry to improve
proppant transport in fracturing stages,
the company says. It adds that the technology uses consistent perforating entry
holes and penetration depths in wells
regardless of gun position, well casing
and formation.
"Particle transport at a high fluid ve-

locity is complex. With the SandIQ perforating system, proppant placement efficiency is improved because the system
creates a diversion ledge in combination
with a 45-degree formation entry ramp,"
