To Determine Permeability

BURLINGTON, MA.-Exa Corp., a
provider of engineering software for simulation-based design, announces it has
signed a multiyear commercial agreement
with BP through which BP will use Exa's
DigitalROCK™ relative permeability software solution based on Exa's multiphase
fluid flow simulation technology.
As a result of three years of cooperative
research and validation, Exa says it is
bringing to market the first predictive
computational solver for relative permeability. According to the company, this
new capability will help engineering
teams make more informed decisions on
wells, production facilities and resource
progression, including enhanced oil recovery.
Joanne Fredrich, upstream technology
senior adviser at BP, praises the software.
"The ability to generate reliable relative
permeability information directly from
digital scans on a much faster time scale
than laboratory testing, and to gain insight
into the underlying pore-scale dynamics,
provides substantial business value during
appraisal, development, and management
of our reservoirs. We plan to deploy this

Red Hills Cryogenic Plant Commences Operations
DALLAS-Lucid Energy Group has
started the Red Hills II cryogenic natural
gas processing plant in Lea County,
N.M.
According to the company, the plant
brings the Red Hills Complex's natural
gas processing capacity to 310 million
cubic feet a day. Lucid says the total
processing capacity of its South Carlsbad
gathering and processing system in Lea
and Eddy counties has reached 345
MMcf/d, tripling output since Lucid's

Bone Springs and Avalon formations
of the northern Delaware Basin, Lucid
says.
The company reports it is on schedule
with its previously announced Roadrunner cryogenic processing plant. Roadrunner I, the first plant at the Eddy
County complex, is expected to bring
the South Carlsbad System's total
processing capacity to 545 MMcf/d
in January 2018.

Tenaris Debuts Connection
With High Torque Strength

HOUSTON-Tenaris says its TenarisHydril Wedge XP™ threaded and coupled connection offers high torque performance and
superior runnability for shale applications.
The Wedge XP provides the exceptional
overtorque performance needed in many
production strings typically used in horizontal shale wells, Tenaris relates. The
company attributes the connection's torque
capacity to the robustness of the TenarisHydril Wedge thread design combined
with a pin-to-pin backup mechanism.
The connection maximizes value for
oil and gas operators by reducing running
times and significantly decreasing rejects
and remakeups, Tenaris reports. The
makeup indicator allows for visual confirmation of acceptable makeup position,
eliminating the need for a torque-turn
chart and improving installation speed,
the company continues.
